Stir up Sunday harks back to Victorian times and was traditionally a moment families gathered together in the kitchen of their homes to mix and steam Christmas pudding.

By tradition the pudding mixture was stirred from East to West in honour of the three wise men who visited the baby Jesus.

In some households, silver coins are added to the pudding mix. It is believed that finding a coin brings good luck for the year ahead.

We invite you to try our Granny’s Christmas pudding recipe, full of rich ingredients and our delicious free range eggs.

It’s the perfect opportunity to add a new tradition to your families Christmastime, and can signify the start of Christmas – especially with the smell of them steaming away.

A joint activity to bring the family together and a chance for some lucky family member to find the coin!
