St Ewe Free Range Eggs visit FareShare Southwest

May 11 2022

We were honoured to have been invited to the opening of FareShare Southwest’s brand new warehouse, based in Plymouth.

FareShare is a charity whose mission is to tackle the issue of food waste and hunger in the UK. Something we are egg-stremely passionate about at St Ewe Free Range Eggs.

The expansion of the new warehouse will allow the charity to deliver enough food for around 1 million meals per year and will save about 420 tonnes of surplus food from going to waste.

With the recent struggles of the pandemic, and the cost of living crisis; food insecurity is at an all-time high in the UK. In fact, recent figures show that 26% of children in Cornwall live in poverty, which is an absolutely shocking statistic.

Once our partnership begins, the new warehouse in Plymouth will allow for a stronger connection between St Ewe Free Range Eggs, the FareShare charity, and its network within the South West. We will be working on our Baker’s Dozen concept which means that for every 12 eggs we sell across our entire retail range, St Ewe will donate 1 egg to FareShare, with a mission to donate in excess of 2 million eggs this year.

Thank ewe to the whole team at FareShare Southwest for inviting us to the grand opening of the warehouse and delicious breakfast. We look forward to beginning our partnership and supporting those in need long into the future!
