Modern Slavery Policy

Purpose

This policy ensures that St. Ewe Free Range Eggs Ltd complies with s.54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the responsibilities of St. Ewe and our team members. We are committed to preventing acts of modern slavery and human trafficking from occurring within our business and supply chain. We impose the same high standard on our suppliers and contractors.

We recognise that modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It can take various forms, including slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour, and human trafficking. St. Ewe has a zero-tolerance approach to any form of modern slavery.

Scope

St. Ewe Free Range Eggs Ltd is committed to ensuring that all its business operations are free from involvement with slavery or human trafficking. This policy applies to all team members of St. Ewe and all third parties with whom we do business with (suppliers, contractors and partners).

St. Ewe Responsibilities

We do not tolerate modern slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, or human trafficking. St. Ewe is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships. We are required to complete a two-pillar SMETA audit and these reports are published in the SEDEX system.

Team Responsibilities

Team members must report any suspicions of modern slavery using our whistleblowing procedure. We will train our team to recognise and address risks related to modern slavery. Breaches of this policy may lead to disciplinary action or termination. All team members have access to the Modern Slavery and Exploitation helpline.

Recruitment Agencies

St. Ewe will only work alongside recruitment agencies who are committed to eliminating modern slavery as well as ensuring their team are awareness trained. Agencies must regularly monitor risks and continue to work with appropriate organisations to improve standards.

Whistleblowing and Reporting

St. Ewe encourage team members and third parties to report concerns confidentiality. Reports can be made via the whistleblowing QR code which is on doors in the restrooms.

Team Training

All team members at all levels are trained via our E-Learning platform on Modern Slavery Awareness. St. Ewe require all leaders to understand possible threats of modern slavery and know how to report any concerns. They must also promote awareness of the risks and consequences. The EDI Base Code is on show within our breakout areas.

Due Diligence

To enable us to prevent modern slavery we want suppliers to ensure compliance with legal standards as well as including anti-slavery clauses in our contract with our suppliers, customers, contractors and producers. We spot check and audit where appropriate.

Breaches

Any team member found to have breached this policy could face disciplinary action. Suppliers, contractors, customers and producers who do not comply may face termination of contract with St. Ewe.
