OUR EGGS

Explore St. Ewe's Free Range Eggs

Not all free-range eggs are created equal. At St. Ewe, we've spent over 40 years proving it.

Born from a Cornish farming family and built on a deep conviction that well-cared-for hens make extraordinary eggs, our range has grown from a single packing line in 1982 to become the choice of Michelin-starred restaurants and foodie households across the UK.

Every egg in our range is free-range - laid by hens with genuine space to roam, forage, and live well. But we don't stop there. From our everyday Originals to our Rich Yolk® eggs, each variety is crafted with a specific purpose in mind: to perform beautifully, taste extraordinary, and make the cook look good.

THE ST. EWE RANGE

FREE RANGE. NATURALLY.

Our free-range eggs are produced by a trusted network of British family farmers who each share our values of welfare, transparency, and quality. Every hen lives the outdoor life she deserves - free to roam, forage, and flourish.

Whether you're a chef who demands the richest yolk on the plate, a baker who won't settle for anything less than a perfect white, or a home cook who just wants the best egg on the market, you'll find it here.

RICH YOLK - THE CHEF'S EGG

DEVELOPED WITH CHEFS. CHOSEN BY MICHELIN STARS

If there is one egg in our range that defines the St. Ewe difference, it is Rich Yolk®. Developed with industry professionals and refined with input from some of the UK's finest chefs, Rich Yolk has become our most celebrated variety, and the most trusted free-range egg in professional kitchens across the country.

The secret is in the feed. Our hens are nourished on a carefully formulated diet that includes marigold petals and a nature-identical paprika extract. This creates yolks of an exceptional, deep-orange intensity - the richest on the Yolk Scale - that hold their colour through cooking, baking, and heat.

Whether folded into pasta, set into a patisserie cream, or simply poached on a plate, the result is unmistakable. Trusted by Michelin-starred restaurants and chosen for The Roux Scholarship national final, this is the free-range egg that chefs reach for when it matters most.

Available in retail 6 & 10-packs (mixed weight). For food service, please refer to our Professional Range.

RICH YOLK LUXURIOUSLY LARGE

MAXIMUM YOLK. MAXIMUM IMPACT.

Everything you love about Rich Yolk® (the deep-orange intensity, the complex flavour, the exceptional whites) in a large egg format that makes a statement. Selected from hens at the perfect time, our Luxuriously Large eggs are the choice for dishes where presentation and performance are everything.

For pasta that catches the light. For patisserie that stops the table. For the moment when the egg on the plate needs to be perfect.

Available in retail 6-packs (large).

ST. EWE ORIGINALS

THE EVERYDAY FREE-RANGE EGG

Our Original free-range eggs are the foundation of the St. Ewe range. Rich in flavour, consistent in quality, and laid by hens reared by like-minded British farming families - these are the eggs that got us here.

Available in Large, Medium, and a convenient Family Pack, our Originals carry the Red Lion mark and are accredited to the British Lion Code of Practice: your assurance of quality, safety, and British provenance in every box. Being highly accredited and meeting rigorous standards throughout our supply chain means you can cook with total confidence. Retailers and foodservice teams trust St. Ewe Originals for their consistency. Same colour. Same size. Same quality. Every single time.

SUPER EGGS - SUPER NUTRITIOUS, PROPER DELICIOUS

EGGS THAT GO FURTHER

Nutrition has always been at the heart of what we do. Our carefully formulated feed programmes mean that every St. Ewe egg is naturally richer than the average - and our Super Eggs™ take that a step further.

Our Super Eggs™ are enhanced with higher levels of Selenium and Omega-3 - nutrients that many of us simply don't get enough of. Without changing the taste or the look that St. Ewe is known for, our Super Eggs™ give you more from every free-range egg.

Available in retail 6-packs (mixed weight).

A TRUSTED PARTNER, NOT JUST A SUPPLIER

Great cooking starts with great ingredients. That's the reason the most exacting chefs in the country have made St. Ewe their egg of choice.

We've always believed that the best way to develop an egg worthy of professional kitchens is to work alongside the people who use them. Our Rich Yolk®, Bijou and Signature ranges were developed in collaboration with industry professionals, tested in real kitchens, and refined to meet the standards of Michelin-starred restaurants and fine dining alike.

As proud sponsors of the Craft Guild of Chefs, we champion culinary excellence at the heart of the UK’s food industry and align with chefs who set the benchmark for gastronomic standards. When you cook with St. Ewe, you're working with a free-range egg that has been designed to perform - not just to look good on a shelf.

THE CHEF'S EGG: ST. EWE IN THE PROFESSIONAL KITCHEN

St. Ewe works closely alongside the culinary world. We sponsor The Roux Scholarship, the most prestigious cooking competition for young chefs in the UK, ensuring our free-range eggs are present at the highest level of culinary excellence. We partner with the Craft Guild of Chefs and Classic Fine Foods, supporting the profession from emerging talent to established names.

We also work with our Culinary Development Chef, Russell Bateman, to develop recipes and techniques that showcase what St. Ewe eggs can do at their best - from fresh fruit sabayon to show-stopping patisserie.

St. Ewe Rich Yolk eggs are amazing to use in the kitchen because of the incredible vibrancy in the colour of the yolks, giving that natural, amazing golden hue when used - and they are delicious!

WHAT MAKES A GREAT FREE RANGE EGG?

The term 'free range' has a legal definition, but at St. Ewe, we hold our hens (and ourselves) to a far higher standard than the minimum required

Free-range hens must have outdoor access, but at St. Ewe we go further: we work only with British family farmers who share our belief that welfare is the foundation of a better egg. Hens that roam, forage, and live in genuinely low-stress environments produce eggs with richer nutrition, more complex flavour, and greater functional performance in the kitchen.

Our carefully formulated feed programmes complement this outdoor lifestyle, ensuring every St. Ewe hen receives the nutrients she needs to produce the very best egg she can. The result is an egg that consistently outperforms in taste, presentation, and professional application, egg after egg.ste Difference. Choose St. Ewe.

From Cornwall and farms across the UK to the country's finest kitchens, St. Ewe free-range eggs are produced with a purpose: to be the best egg, from the best hens, for the best cooks.

FAQs ABOUT FREE-RANGE EGGS

Most free-range eggs meet a basic legal standard - outdoor access and a defined stocking density. St. Ewe goes further on every measure: RSPCA Assured welfare, carefully formulated feed programmes that affect the nutritional profile and flavour of the egg, independent quality auditing through the British Lion Code, and B Corp certification that holds us accountable on social and environmental performance.

In the UK, hens must have continuous access to an outdoor range during daylight hours to qualify as free range. The maximum indoor stocking density is 9 hens per square metre. At St. Ewe, we work exclusively with British family farms that meet and exceed these requirements - with RSPCA Assured welfare standards covering everything from housing design to daily management.

The British Lion mark (the Red Lion Code) is the UK's most trusted egg quality mark. It guarantees that eggs are laid by hens vaccinated against Salmonella, produced to strict hygiene standards, and independently audited throughout the supply chain. All St. Ewe eggs carry the Lion mark.

Rich Yolk® eggs are produced by hens fed a specific diet that includes marigold petals and nature-identical paprika extract, creating yolks with the richest orange colour on the Roche scale. This golden colour is stable through cooking, baking, and reheating - meaning the pasta, patisserie, or sauce you plate will look as vibrant as it did in development. The whites are also notably firm and clear, with a strong protein structure ideal for whipping, meringues, and soufflés.

We work with a trusted network of British family farmers, primarily in the South West and Wales, who share our values of welfare, quality, and transparency. All our free-range eggs are packed at our Cornwall facility.

B Corp is an independent global certification awarded to businesses that meet verified standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. St. Ewe became the first UK-founded egg packer to achieve B Corp certification in Europe, with a score of 84.0 - well above the 50.9 median for ordinary businesses.
