Kerensa translates to love in Cornish and nothing says I love you more than lots of kisses. So pucker up and whip up some of these sweet, sweet meringue kisses for that special someone no matter what the day!
Preheat the oven to 120C/100C fan. Line two baking sheets with greaseproof paper.
Whip up the egg whites until they form peaks and doubled in size.
Slowly add the sugar a tbsp at a time and continue to whisk. The meringue will become glossy and should hold up in stiff peaks when it is ready.
To create your kisses. Take your piping bag and place your nozzle in the point. Paint red food colouring paste in stripes up the inside of the bag, then fill with meringue mixture. Hold the bag vertically to the baking sheet and gently squeeze, then pull the bag upwards and away to make a peak.
Pop in the oven and bake for 1 hr. Once your kisses have cooled off, you can leave them plain, or for an extra treat, drizzle some of the kisses with melted chocolate and sprinkle them with your edible glitter.
